Position Description:
The Cloud Security Architect/Engineer will design and engineer secure cloud architectures across VA's multi-cloud environment, ensuring FedRAMP and RMF authorization requirements are built into cloud systems and applications from the outset. This role supports Assessment & Authorization (A&A) activities, cloud security control implementation, and compliance validation for cloud-hosted VA solutions, working closely with the broader architecture and engineering team.
Position Requirements:
- 10+ years of information security experience, including 5+ years focused on cloud security at a large federal agency or comparable enterprise.
- Experience implementing FedRAMP/RMF authorization requirements into cloud systems and applications.
- Hands-on cloud security architecture and engineering experience across major commercial cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or similar).

IAT, IAM, and IASAE are qualification levels, not certifications in themselves — each level is satisfied by an approved certification such as CISSP, CASP+ CE, CISA, CISM, CCISO, GCIH, or CSSLP, depending on the level and category.
Desired Certifications:
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate
- CCSK (Cloud Security Alliance)
