Excentium, Inc. is a veteran owned small business that provides Cyber Security; Information Assurance (IA), IA Management, and Certification and Accreditation (C&A) services to government and commercial organizations.

We have an opportunity for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support one of our customers in the Falls Church, VA area.  This person will be a member of a team responsible for ensuring the successful re-accreditation of a large commercial enterprise system supporting the DoD.

The chosen candidate will operate as member of a team of IA professionals providing information assurance/information systems security (INFOSEC) support to organizational activities. The candidate will be knowledgeable in DoD security and IA requirements as outlined in DoDI 8500.2 and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG). Current knowledge of DoD Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS), Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) policies and standards is preferred.

Job tasks and activities will include:

·         Architecture design review and recommendation for improvements in security necessary to ensure compliance with DoD requirements.

·         Establish appropriate security and accreditation boundaries based on system components that store, process, display, or transmit DoD sensitive data or otherwise interface with DoD systems.

·         Use of commercial and DoD recognized security assessment tools such as Security Readiness Review (SRR) scripts for UNIX and DBMS, AppDetective, WebInspect, Nessus, DISA Gold Disk, eRetina, FSO STIG Checklists, etc.

·         Analysis of system security on Unix, Windows 2K/XP/2K3, Vista, 2K8 systems, network devices (firewalls, routers, and switches), web servers and database applications.

System administration/configuration experience in the above technologies is required.

·         Application of INFOSEC best practice principles to network protocols, architectures, equipment, services, standards and technology.

·         Support of the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process for customer systems.

·         Development and analysis of IA requirements.

 

General Experience:  Candidate must have at least five years of network and systems security engineering experience.  Experience within the Department of Defense and Military Health System is preferable.  Strong oral/written communication and customer interface skills a necessity.

Education:  A minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related hard technical discipline is preferable.

Candidate must currently hold or be able to obtain an 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification within ninety (90) days of hire.

Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen, will be subject to background investigation, and must meet the requirements necessary to obtain an IT II position of public trust adjudication.
