Position Description:

Excentium is seeking a Software Test Engineer-Jr with a background of working closely with other members of a technical development test team. The Software Test Engineer should be familiar with system life cycle processes and with all aspects of software testing to include functional, integration, security, System Administration and regression testing as required. In addition to functional and technical software testing, the Software Test Engineer will perform security specific testing against applications and software code.

Responsibilities:

• Validate software requirements through functional, usability, performance, security, stress, compatibility, and regression testing

• Develop test scenarios, concepts and strategies
• Conduct test-case reviews and ensure all test activities are properly executed and documented according to our client's standards.
• Configure hardware and software test equipment as required for the test environment and assist with troubleshooting issues.
• Complete test requirements for all milestones, and software and documentation deliverables.
• Collect test data and perform data analysis

​Skills:

• Working in a Team environment with multiple systems under test
• Conducting Independent Verification and Validation, Regression, security, and functional tests
• Experienced with evaluation DOD IT systems for the assessment of vulnerabilities and compliance with DOD security requirements
• System Administration
• Knowledgeable of security issues, techniques, and implications across all existing computer platforms
• Experience performing application security testing, code reviews, and fuzz testing
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800-53, RMF, FIPS 199 and 200 and FISMA
• Experienced in the authoring of test plans, and detailed test procedures
• Ability to interpret system requirements and create testable requirements
• Documenting deficiencies and updating reports
• Preparing and presenting briefings (Test Readiness Review, Quick Look, deficiency status)
• Preparing final test reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology discipline or equivalent experience
• Three (3) or more years of test engineering experience.
• One (1) year of testing security requirements
• Network + or Security+ certification required, Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) or equivalent certification preferred
