We have an opportunity for a Cyber A & A Engineer / Analyst, Lead Validator to support our corporate capture team in the Norfolk Va. area

MINIMUM CLEARANCE LEVEL: Top Secret
CITIZENSHIP: US Citizenship
LOCATION: Norfolk, Va.
***Must have CompTIA Security to start work

 Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) Certification Required

Position Description:

 

The candidate’s Primary responsibility will be to perform in the Assessment & Authorization (A&A) role to ensure assigned Dept. of Navy/DoD systems/Enclaves/Networks have the proper Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Authorization to Connect (ATC) certifications.


Responsibilities:

  • Will be a part of a team developing recommended courses of action needed to transition current policies and procedures to the Risk Management Framework (RMF) approved processes.
  • Advise and assist associated organization POCs in their efforts to prepare and submit ATO and ATC packages to their respective approval authorities.
  • Identify network devices and equipment that have not been properly updated to minimize the potential for unauthorized intrusions and malicious software.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • Provide solutions to complex problems that require the regular use of expertise and creativity. Problems are broadly defined and solutions require the continuation of specialized theories and knowledge.

 

Skills:

Must have Five (5) years’ experience in the C&A functional area defining or evaluating computer security requirements for applications or networks. Experience developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data.

Familiarity with Guidance:

  • Risk Management Framework
  • NIST 800 series policies & Guidance
  • NIST Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
  • Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI)
  • Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Security Reference Models (SRMs)
  • Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet)
  • Familiarity with Toolsets/Technologies:
  • STIGViewer, Vulnerator, eMASS, Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)

Knowledge in at least one in the following OS/Technologies

  • Windows
  • Linux/Unix
  • Network Devices
  • Databases MS SQL, Oracle
  • VMWare Virtualization
  • Web Services
  • Active Directory / Group Policy
  • Group Policy
  • Scripting
Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science or related discipline plus 15 years of experience. In lieu of formal education, at least 18 years of related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
  • Must have CompTIA Security + to start work
  • Fully Qualified Navy Validator(Navy Qualified Validator (NQV)
  • OS Certification/Approved Training completed within 180 days of hire
  • Experience with creation and/or management of RMF Packages
  • Experience with Accreditation package management in eMASS
  • Possession of excellent customer service and organization skills
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
