We have an opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist- Senior (CMS): to support a customer in the Fort Knox Ky. Area

LOCATION: FT Knox Ky.
 

Position Description:

Demonstrated experience and ability to provide configuration baseline control throughout the lifecycle of highly complex information systems as well as component software and hardware elements. Will be an advisor to the Configuration Control Boards (CCBs). Ability to maintain allocated, functional and physical baseline control and ability to perform audit support. Able to review all engineering change requests to assess impact upon configuration baseline and logistics support elements. Maintains configuration control records and technical documents. Works closely with quality assurance and management representatives to ensure accurate and well-documented product baseline. Prepares directives for change authorization and implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Identifies and maintains the original configuration of all documentation
• Tracks all problems and changes in documents and reports changes and current configuration.
• Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met.
• Formulates or reviews proposed changes and,
• Validates that each change request has met all the appropriate requirements before board submission.
• Collaborates with stakeholders in order to verify that changes are ready to seek board approval.
• Works with PMs to resolve issues and help define needs for change requests that could impede board approval.
• Coordinates modification records for management control.
• Ensures that customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity to ensure compliance with configuration management policies

• Proficiency with other Microsoft Office suite products, to include PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Excellent Configuration Management, and organization skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Exhibit pro-active, agile, and dependable qualities

• Knowledge of Configuration Management disciplines
• Experience with SharePoint
• Prior customer experience
• Technical Background

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in either science, technology, engineering, or mathematics

• Have at least 3 years’ experience planning and managing configuration management modifications
• 4 years’ experience defining digital repositories and administration of digital content throughout its lifecycle, from creation to permanent storage or deletion.
